Glass Recycling in the French Quarter

Glass for recycling is picked up Thursdays from properties eligible to receive sanitation services from the City. Residents and small businesses are to continue to recycle paper, small metals, cardboard and plastics (#1-#7) on Tuesday of each week. Glass must not be placed in the bins for the Tuesday collection.



Today, the City of New Orleans issued updates and reminders of parking instructions, traffic restrictions and safety regulations in advance of the 2016 Mardi Gras parades scheduled to from Wednesday, Feb. 3 through Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016.


Neighborhood Participation Program being studied by City Planning Commission

The study is considering modifications to the NPP to further enhance early notification and the dissemination of information related to development projects. The NPP Study will be considered at the City Planning Commission’s February 23, 2016 meeting.

Our Lady of Guadalupe Valentine’s Day Blood Drive

Sunday, February 14, 2016 from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, in St Jude Hall

The Blood Center urgently needs to replenish its reserve supply of available types O-negative and B negative blood and more dedicated donors to maintain its precious supply of lifesaving blood for family, friends and neighbors in need.

Eat a healthy meal and drink plenty of fluids before donating. Bring photo identification.

The whole donation process takes less than an hour.

SWB alert regarding low water pressure

Low Water Pressure – Emergency Repair

Residents and businesses in the Mid City area extending out to the CBD and French Quarter may be experiencing low water pressure at this time.

The Sewerage and Water Board is on the scene of a water main break in the Bayou St. John area.

Sewerage and Water Board engineers and crews are on the scene working to locate and repair the line. This notice remains in effect until further notice. We will update this situation as information is made available.
