Please join us for the At Home in the Vieux Carré season kickoff: Holiday Edition! There will be a cozy house, plenty of food, wine and bubbles, and a farewell speech by our outgoing Executive Director, Meg Lousteau. Children are always welcome at these events. As always, admission is $5 for members, $10 for non-members, and free to those who join that night!
Michael Buckley & Alan Santos’s have called their beautifully restored sidehall shotgun home for over 5 years. “It was listed as ‘renovated,’ but it really wasn’t,” Mike recalls when it came on the market in 2013. After purchasing the home, the couple began a complete (and actual) renovation with the help of architect Chuck Berg and contractor Chuck Ransdell, which involved gutting the house to the studs. Mike and Alan have lived in much larger homes, but Mike realized “we never used 90% of the space.” Here, they have ample room for guests and entertaining, not to mention their assortment of doted-on dogs. “In 25 years, we’ve lived in 7 different places. This is our favorite.”
