2024 Call for Board Nominations

Dear members,

It is that time of year again: your opportunity to participate in the nomination of the VCPORA Board of Directors. We invite your thoughtful suggestions by using the VCPORA Board Member Nomination Form. You are welcome to nominate yourself. (If you suggest someone else, please ascertain that person’s willingness to serve before making the suggestion.)

Since 1938, VCPORA has preserved and protected the Vieux Carre. We cannot do this without committed and caring guardians to keep up this important work. Every Board Member is expected to support both the goals and the mission of VCPORA, and to not have any conflicts of interest that might affect a position on any of our issues. We are looking for board members to provide leadership, carry out our projects, strategically work in teams, and help build the organization by involving other members who also support the mission and goals of the organization.

The Board meets monthly on the first Tuesday of the month, 6:00 to approximately 7:30 p.m., and each member is also expected to work on one or more committees throughout the year. These include the:

• Advocacy & Legal Committee
• Community Engagement Committee
• Development Committee
• Finance Committee
• Gala Committee

And others, as needed.

Yes, the work can be time-consuming, but it is very rewarding to play a role in caring for one of the most important historic districts in the country!

Only those suggestions received in writing can be considered. Please submit your nominations, via mail or email, by Friday, August 9th. (Sooner is even more helpful.)
