French Quarter and DDD Residential & Commercial Trash Collection
Solid waste collection in the French Quarter and DDD occurs seven days a week, between 4:00 and 8:00 a.m. Properties may not leave containers or bags on public rights-of-way between the hours of 9:00 a.m and 3:30 p.m. Solid waste must not exceed the volume limit (35 gallon cart supplied by the City).
Residential properties: solid waste must be contained in carts with closed, tight-fitting lids or placed in 0.8 mil or greater, secured black plastic bags.
Commercial properties: solid waste must be contained in carts with closed, tight-fitting lids or placed in 3.0 mil or greater, secured black plastic bags.
NOTE: Effective May 1, 2020, the City discontinued the daily evening solid waste collection (4:00 – 6:00 p.m.) in the French Quarter and DDD for eligible locations serviced by the City. There is also no recycling collection on New Year’s Day, Mardi Gras Day, Thanksgiving Day, or Christmas Day. Recycling collection will resume the next scheduled collection day.
